Arizona Chapter National Safety Council Joins National Safety Council in Observing Distracted Driving Awareness Month
Arizona Chapter National Safety Council Joins National Safety Council in Observing Distracted Driving Awareness Month April campaign encourages drivers to avoid distractions and help create safer roads for all.
As part of its ongoing commitment to promoting safety and well-being in the community, the Arizona Chapter National Safety Council (ACNSC) proudly announces its participation in the National Safety Council's (NSC) annual observance of Distracted Driving Awareness Month throughout April. With a focus on educating individuals to lead safer lives on the road, at work, and beyond, ACNSC will join forces with NSC in a nationwide campaign to bring attention to the dangers of distracted driving and share simple steps to avoid it.
Thousands of people are killed and hundreds of thousands more are seriously injured in distracted driving crashes each year. ACNSC is urging businesses to prioritize safe driving practices among their employees. By raising awareness of the three main types of distractions – visual, manual, and cognitive – and emphasizing the importance of attentive driving, employers can play a pivotal role in reducing the risks associated with distracted driving.
“At ACNSC, we recognize the importance of safety behind the wheel, whether someone is transporting goods in a semi-truck, navigating through traffic between appointments, or simply on their way to spend time with loved ones,” says Rick Murry, President and CEO of ACNSC. “Partnering with NSC for Distracted Driving Awareness Month is our way of helping to make our roadways safer for everyone.”
Free resources including posters, videos, articles and more are available at nsc.org/justdrive. Participants are encouraged to take the NSC Just Drive Pledge to drive distraction-free and to help make the roads safer with a donation to the lifesaving mission of NSC.
