Silica Awareness

This course has been developed for employers and employees who perform or are exposed to silica dust generating work activities. Topics covered will include a history of OSHA's silica regulations, key provisions of the OSHA regulations, employer monitoring and assessment requirements, OSHA permissible exposure limits, health hazards related to silica dust exposure, common operations that generate silica exposures, and OSHA required prevention and control methods including Table 1. Participants will walk away with a better understanding of how to recognize, prevent, and control workplace silica exposure hazards.
