The 8-hour course provides the highest level of defensive driving knowledge and skills. It includes the benefits of being a safe and responsible driver and the techniques for avoiding high-risk driving behaviors. Hazard recognition scenarios and the skills needed for dealing with immediate danger and anticipating potential hazards are the principal learning points. Participants evaluate their own driving behaviors and develop a personal plan for change.
The 6-hour course provides the primary knowledge and skills for defensive driving and describes techniques for avoiding high-risk driving behaviors. Participants learn that the right attitude can prevent collisions and will understand the consequences of poor-decision making. Hazard recognition scenarios and applying the skills for dealing with immediate and potential dangerous driving situations are a key focus of the course.
This course guide is valid for either course. One guide per student. Each course guide includes a certificate of completion for participants.
